In case you do not like the idea of the Dock automatically Showing up and Hiding on your Mac, you can easily disable this option and go back to the Mac’s default setting. Stop Dock from Automatically Hiding and Showing. This is only slightly annoying compared to the dock issue so I just deal with it. Note: Press Windows key + Alt + D keys, in case you are using a Windows Keyboard on your Mac. The icon on the folder itself doesn't change, just the shortcut's icon. I gave the folders themselves custom icons which the shortcuts should reflect, but anytime I reboot the machine, the shortcut icons revert back to the default system folder icon. However, I have some icons on my desktop which are shortcuts to folders. So far this has fixed the issue with GTR. After a reboot, the dock would revert to the default system app icon.Įventually, I uninstalled my entire Waves package and then reinstalled through Waves Central. In my case, the issue was mostly happening with Waves GTR 3.5 (guitar processing app.) Both the icon in the dock and the Applications folder would not show correctly (default system icon, not the specific app's icon.) I tried running Waves Central (management app for all the Waves products) and using its repair function which would fix the icons in the Dock, but not in the Application folder.
